The new 2010 Ford Taurus is a completely redesigned and modernized version than its predecessor of the American full size luxury sedan. The new machine features a content yet stylish look with quiet cabin giving you comfortable and controlled ride. It has huge trunk and is available with all wheel drive options. The new Taurus is a full size sedan that offers seating arrangements of up to five people, the new Ford is available in four types of trim levels that include the SE trim, the SEL trim, the Limited trim and the SHO trim version.
The base SE trims version of 2010 Ford Taurus offers features like automatic headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, cruise control features, full power accessories, keyless entry and securicode entry pad, six way power driver seats, tilt and telescoping steering column, 60/40 split folding rear seat, steering wheel audio controls, six speaker stereo having a CD/MP3 player and an auxiliary audio jack options. The SEL trim version adds to it features like dual zone automatic climate control, heated side mirrors, automatic transmission paddle shifter, 18 inch wheels, upgraded cloth upholstery, auto dimming rearview mirror, satellite radio and many other such options. The various options available in the SEL trim version includes features like power passenger seat, rear parking sensors, sync electronics interface system, leather upholstery, 19 inch wheels, Bluetooth and various other options. All the above options for SEL are available in the Taurus limited trim version and added features like driver memory functions, 10 way power front seats, and upgraded stereo with six CD/MP3 player options.
The Taurus SHO trim version adds other features like xenon headlamps, sport tuned suspension options, a power engine, auto dimming exterior driver mirror, keyless ignition, rear spoiler, upgraded leather trim version and optional faux suede upholstery options. The other optional features depending on varied trim levels are remote ignition, sunroof, 12 speaker Sony branded premium audio system, power adjustable pedals, heated front seats and multicontour massaging seats. The limited and the SHO Ford versions offer facilities like adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, blind spot warning system, auto dimming exterior driver mirror, heated rear seats, cooled front seats, rain sensing wipers, 10GB digital music storage, Sirius Travel link, navigation system and an in-dash single CD/DVD player options. Other optional SHO features would include stability control features, 20 inch wheels, performance package, recalibrated steering, summer tires and final drive ratio.
The 2010 Ford Taurus powertrain comes equipped with a standard 3.5 liter V6 engine that is capable of producing 263 horsepower and gives out 249 pound feet of torque level. It offers a six speed automatic transmission option as a standard feature of the machine. All the trim versions except the SE version comes with manual shift control transmission. The standard front wheel drive options is available in all the Taurus trim versions while SEL and limited trim version offers all wheel drive options. The SHO trim version comes with a 3.5 liter twin turbocharged V6 engine that deliver 365 horsepower and 350 lb ft of torque levels.
The standard safety features included in the 2010 Ford Taurus are stability and traction control features, antilock disc brake system, side curtain airbags and front side airbags. The optional safety features would include rear parking sensors, blind spot warning system, cross traffic warning system, and pre-collision warning system.
